Vivo to Launch Two New Smartphones in SA

Following a successful six months in the South African market, vivo mobile announced that it will be adding two new smartphones, to its Y-Series, the Y12 and Y30 ahead of 5G towards the end of the year.

Available in Aqua Blue and Burgundy Red, the Y12 requires just one hand to work this device thanks to specifically designed gesture controls. 

The Y12’s sports an AI Super-Wide-Angle Camera at the back which expands your view to 120° while the front is fitted with an 8MP shooter. 

Like the other devices in the Y-series, the Y12 features a 5,000mAh battery, supported by intelligent power-saving technologies to further extend battery life. 

The octa-core processor with a 12nm design and clock speeds of up to 2.0GHz means that you can install all the apps you need and you can choose between two variants to ensure they run smoothly- 3GB + 64GB or 4GB + 32GB. 

The Y30 was launched in Dazzle Blue and Moonlight White colours. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor and it supports face unlock.

Like the other devices in the Y-series this device also boasts a 5000mAh non-removable battery and a 10W fast charging option, 

The Y30 has 8GB of RAM and an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor. It runs Funtouch OS based on Android 10 and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage. 

The Y30 features a 13-megapixel rear primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture; a second 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture; a third 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a fourth 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. It also comes with Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. 

The front camera also sports a 8-megapixel selfie camera 

Jeff Cao, vivo SA CEO says  the company plans to provide South African consumers with a user experience beyond expectations through technology and innovative, trendsetting products and within three years, they hope to sit in the top tier segment of cell phone brands in SA.
