Leeuwkop Prisoners Arrested After Kidnapping 4-Month-Old Baby

Two prisoners who escaped from Leeuwkop Prison have been arrested after they allegedly kidnapped a four-month-old baby during a house robbery in Fourways.
It is understood the duo were handcuffed by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) on Thursday after the white Toyota double-cab they were driving at high speed landed up in a ditch in Diepsloot.
The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar says Diepsloot residents then attacked the two criminals.
“It was established that the two suspects escaped from Leeuwkop Prison where they were serving ten and thirty years sentences for murder.”
Minnaar says the four-month-old girl has since been reunited with her family.
