Huawei has announced that the Mate 40 Pro will be available in South Africa from 1 April.

The Mate 40 Pro boasts innovative features and striking design elements that Huawei says elevate the user experience.

The Mate 40 Pro continues with Space Ring design complemented upfront with the ultra-curved OLED Horizon Display, which curves at 88 degrees and offers a 90Hz refresh rate.

An in-screen fingerprint sensor is embedded below the display, and it sports a punch-hole notch at the top for its 13MP front-facing camera, which is paired with a 3D depth sensor.

On the back of the smartphone is its Space Ring camera system, which has a 50MP primary lens, along with 20MP and 12MP lenses.

It boasts 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, expandable via NanoSD card.

The Mate 40 Pro features the 5nm Kirin 9000 flagship SoC (System on chip), adopting a three-level power efficiency architecture, with one big core, three middle cores, and four small cores.

The Mate 40 Pro is equipped with HMS and comes preinstalled with the Huawei AppGallery and the Petal Search widget, which acts as a gateway to over a million local apps.

The Mate 40 Pro is expected to retail for R19,999.

Customers who pre-order the Mate 40 Pro and pay R500 will receive an extra R1500 discount off on the balance of the purchase price.

Huawei is also offering a bundle consisting of the new Freebuds 4i, the GT 2e watch, a Huawei Smart Scale and the Huawei VIP Service, exclusive to the Huawei online store and limited to the first 200 customers.
