Three years after the launch its gaming sub-brand, Lenovo has introduced the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel, a gaming, fast-charging smartphone that offers sub-6GHz 5G.

Lenovo says the gaming smartphone is created specifically for on-the-go gamers passionate about high performance and who prefer the comfort and convenience of playing entirely in horizontal mode.

The Legion Phone Duel features a 6.65-inch Full HD 2,340 x 1,080 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate while the  touch sampling rate is 240Hz.

It packs 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage, and offers 5000mAh battery life thanks to dual 2500mAh batteries placed in gamer’s grip areas on either side of the central logic board.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel also uses Qualcomm’s recently-announced Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G CPU and is powered by Qualcomm’s Adreno 650 GPU.

Gamers can capture general HD 1080p footage and record in 4K at up to 30 frames per second (FPS)  with a pop-up 20MP front camera that stays tucked inside bezel when not live streaming for a clean look, also features auto-retract drop protection.

The rear camera array includes two lenses, a 64MP primary lens and a 16MP ultrawide lens and offers a dual-LED flash.

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel speakers are tuned by Dirac Audio software technology for a surprising 3D stereo sound experience.

Designed to offer gamers better grip, the phone comes in at 239 grams and is 9.9 mm  at its thickest point.

Pricing and Availability

The Lenovo Legion Phone Duel is expected to be available starting July in China and in select markets at a later stage

Lenovo says pricing will vary in different markets with no indication of availability in South Africa.
