Huawei to Launch Y6p in SA

Huawei South Africa is expected to launch the Y6p, the latest addition to the Y Series.

The device features a 6.3-inch Dewdrop Display and also packs a 13MP main camera, 5MP wide angle camera and a 2MP depth camera.

The Y6p has 3GB of RAM with 64GB of uncompromised storage and boasts a large 5000mAh battery that can provide up to 32 hours of video playback on a single charge.

Also available is an optional expansion slot that supports up to 512GB of additional storage via microSD.

The device also runs on a powerful MTK Helio P22 octa-core processor, which provides all-round performance across productivity and entertainment use cases.

Reverse charging transforms the smartphone into a high-capacity power bank, allowing users to take full advantage of the massive battery to charge other devices, even when it is used as an external storage for another smartphone.

The Y6p on EMUI 10.1 which also includes new templates for users to easily create photo collages for sharing on social media, as well as a Simple Mode enlarges icons and font sizes for a simpler user interface.

Pricing and availability

The Huawei Y6p will be available in South Africa at a starting price of R3,299 and is expected to be on-shelf by 1 July 2020. It can be pre-ordered from the 25 – 30 June 2020 and comes with a gift to the value of R1,499.
