[LISTEN] “Sha’baan is a Prelude to the Blessed Month of Ramadan” – Ml Ebrahim Bham
With the dawn of the Islamic month of Sha’baan and 28 days left for the blessed of Ramadan, Secretary General of the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa Moulana Ebrahim Bham said Shab’aan is a very auspicious time in the Muslim calendar.
The month of Sha’baan set in on Thursday after the moon was sighted in the country.
Sha’baan has a very special place in the Islamic Calendar because in this month lies a very auspicious night known as Layaltul- Baraa’ah (The Night of Emancipation; The night of Freedom from fire).
Ml Bham said on this night Allah’s Special Mercy and Forgiveness descends upon His fortunate servants from the commencement of the night, Maghrib (Sunset) until dawn.
“Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) had said on this night, so many people are forgiven by Allah (SWT) because of His Rahmat and mercy which is at its peak on this night accept for those who worship idols and for those who bare grudge and hatred.”
Ml Bham has appealed to the Muslim ummah to afford this blessed month of Sha’baan respect, dignity and sacred that it deserves.”
The word Sha’baan means branches of good a’maal (deeds).
