Lenasia Police Investigating Murder After Man Assaulted at Lawley Informal Settlement
Lenasia police are investigating a case of murder following a complaint of a dead body at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
Officers were informed the of the body by an on-duty nurse on Wednesday.
The police’s Bafana Ndimande said the victim sustained multiple injuries on the upper body.
“It was further alleged that the victim was assaulted by unknown persons at Lawley Station Informal Settlement near Lenasia. He was certified dead upon arrival at the hospital. The motive of murder is unknown at this stage. The deceased was transferred to Diepkloof Government Mortuary by the pathologists.”
Ndimande has appealed to the community to assist police with any information that may lead to the arrest of the criminals.
