[LISTEN] “Do I Abandon Islam or Do I Hold On?” A Painful Muslim Revert Story by Ml Sulaiman Moola
Respected Islamic scholar Ml Sulaiman Moola said the impact of Muslims reserving leniency for themselves while imposing harsh verdicts on others is driving people away from the religion of Islam.
Ml Moola was speaking during the Seerah Jalsah at the Nurul Islam Masjid in Lenasia last year.
The esteemed Aalim narrated the story about a famous Muslim revert who was mocked by a worshipper in a masjid about his long hair.
Ml Moola said he cannot forget the story about the revert after sharing a platform with him in the US and Malaysia.
“He said, ‘I walked into a masjid three years after my Shahaadah. As I entered into the masjid, a brother passed a remark: ‘What kind Muslim is this with long hair like this?’ He said I went back home and I’m telling you Sheikh, from the day I became a Muslim, I was never tempted to leave Islam more on any day then that day.’”
Ml Moola said the story is more intriguing with the revert deliberating ‘Do I abandon Islam or do I hold on?’
