Rand Water Warns Public of Fake Micro Loan Scam

Rand Water has distanced itself from a fake online micro loan scam which is using its name to lure vulnerable consumers.

The water utility has warned the public to be aware of the so-called ‘Rand Water Micro Loan Scheme’ which is being advertised on certain social media platforms.

Spokesperson Justice Mohale said: “Rand Water distances itself from this false advertising, and advises all consumers to be alert to such practices, as it does not offer micro facilities to the public.”
