Iran-Backed Houthis Claim Responsibility for Drone Attack in UAE Killing Three
Iran-backed Houthi fighters have claimed responsibility for a drone attack on the United Arab Emirates that caused explosions and a fire on the outskirts of the capital Abu Dhabi leaving three people dead.
The UAE’s state-run WAM news agency reported that preliminary investiagtions have revealed that small flying objects, likely drones, fell in both incidents and may have triggered the blasts.
In a statement, Abu Dhabi police said two Indians and one Pakistani were killed and six others injured in the fuel-tank fire close to the storage facilities of state-run oil group Adnoc.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has condemned the attack saying it reaffirms the danger of “this terrorist group and its threat to security, peace, and stability in the region and
the World.”
“The Kingdom affirms its full support with the brotherly United Arab Emirates in the face of all threats to its security and stability.”
The latest attacks come days after the Houthis warned Abu Dhabi against increased military involvement in Yemen’s energy-rich province of Shabwa.
