Ladysmith Residents Being Evacuated after Town Flooded Following Heavy Downpours

Ladsymith residents are being evacuated to higher ground after the Klip River burst its banks and flooded the town following heavy downpours.

The Al Imdaad Foundation has appealed to communities and organisations who want to assist those affected by the floods to contact them.

The organisation’s Abed Karim said the town has been devastated by the floods.

“At the moment we are in a state of evacuation”

Motorists have been urged to stay away from the flooded areas of the town, including the low-lying streets in the CBD.

Authorities have also urged people not to cross low-lying bridges and flooded roads.
