Three Arrested at Beitbridge Border Post for Smuggling Explosives into South Africa

Limpopo police have arrested three foreign nationals at the Beitbridge Border Post for allegedly trying to smuggle explosive into South Africa. 

The two men and one women were handcuffed on Wednesday as they crossed into South Africa from Zimbabwe carrying a backpack and two luggage bags.

The police’s Motlafela Mojapelo said officers were notified of the trios entry into the country by the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). 

“The suspects aged between 31 and 33 were arrested and taken to Musina Police station where their luggages were searched and commercial explosives discovered.”

The  suspects are expected to appear in Musina magistrate court soon facing charges of unlawful possession and smuggling of explosives.
