R20 Million Worth of Cocaine Found on Jeffreys Bay Beach

 A suspected cocaine consignment worth R20 million has been found on the main beach in Jeffrey’s Bay.

It is understood, passers-by were walking their dog on Wednesday when they noticed the drug consignment washed-out from the sea and called the police.

The police’s Colonel Philani Nkwalase the suspected drugs were seized for forensic examination and the docket referred to Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation for a further probe.

“Several suspected compressed bricks of pure white cocaine weighing 46kg worth an estimated street value of R20 million were found upon opening the package. The bricks were contained in a thick black plastic bag properly sealed on top to prevent contact with water. An empty plastic container was tied on the consignment to keep it floating. 

Nkwalase says there are no arrests at this stage and investigations are ongoing.
