Mother & Son Found Murdered in Mombela Home

Police are investigating two cases of murder after a 44-year-old mother and her son 28-year-old son were found dead in their home in Mombela.

Police say they attended a scene on Sunday morning after being told by members of the community about a bad odour coming from a certain house.

The police’s Selvy Mohlala says neighbours informed officers that the woman lived with her son and they were both last seen on Thursday, 2 December.

“When the members arrived at the said house they found the door of the house closed but unlocked and discovered a body of a 44 year-old-woman on the ground with a bed on top of her. The victims head was covered with a plastic bag and visible wound on her shoulder. The body of her son was also found at the house’s garage with stab wounds.”

Motala has urged anyone with information to come forward.
