National Police & Private Security Following a Number of Leads to Locate Kidnapped Moti Brothers

National police task teams including private Polokwane based security companies are following up on a number of leads and doing all they can to determine the whereabouts of the four kidnapped Moti brothers. 

After four days, there has been no clue, ransom demand or contact from the kidnappers as to where Nazim and Shakira’s sons, 15-year-old Zia, 13-year-old Alaan, 11-year-old Zayyad and 6-year-old Zidan could be following their abduction. 

The Moti brothers were kidnapped on Wednesday after the car they were being driven in en-route to school was cut off by two others along the Tzaneen bypass before seven heavily armed men dressed in white overalls made off with the boys.

Speaking to eNCA, SPS High Risk Unit’s Jason Janse van Rensburg says it is unclear where the Moti brothers are being held, but the search continues for them. 

“The police, generals, brigadiers, the task teams, everyone that I have seen last night who we were working with is giving everything they’ve got, they’ve activated so many people. We’ve been to Gauteng on leads as well.” 

The police and security forces have also urged the public to refrain from sharing fake news and should only come forward if they have factual and important leads and information to contribute. 

Mighty Tactical Security’s Shabir Valjie told eNCA the Moti family are distraught and people should respect their privacy during this difficult time. 

“The media and people on their Facebook’s and all those social media things must try to at least not comment on what is happening with the Moti family and put false news that how the kids have been found and put negative things on the media. Please refrain from that because it is affecting the family.” 

The Moti family has thanked South Africans for their support and prayers and have urged people to continue praying for the safe return of their sons.
