HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones has announced the availability of the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 plus and the new Nokia 6 in South Africa.

The new Android One Nokia smartphones were introduced at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February earlier this year, and will go on sale during April 2018 through Cell C, MTN and Vodacom as well as selected retailers.

Nokia says each new smartphone offers durability and reliability as standard, with the range setting new benchmarks in materials and design.

Nokia 8 Sirocco

The Nokia 8 Sirocco features include enhanced dual rear sensors with ZEISS optics that combine an ultra-sensitive, wide angle primary camera for impressive low-light performance and a secondary 13MP sensor with 2x optical zoom.

It combines a curved edge-to-edge pOLED 2K 5.5-inch display with smaller bezels and moulded body curves to create an ultra-compact profile.

Available in Black, the Nokia 8 Sirocco will be available on 07 May 2018 from R499.00/month x 24 months on Post-Paid Operator deals.

While HMD didn’t say how much it’ll cost for prepaid buyers, totalling the monthly fee over the two-year period works out to R12,000.

The New Nokia 6 is made from a solid block of 6000 series aluminum, with an 11-hour two-tone anodising and polishing process. It has a 2.5D display with damage-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.

It packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform.

And finally the HMD Global has confirmed the updated 8110 or so called banana phone featured in the Matrix movies is coming to South Africa… but it can’t tell us when or for how much.
