Woman Critically Injured After Dog Attack in Potchefstroom

A 47-year-old woman has been critically injured after three dogs attacked her at a residence in Miederpark, Potchefstroom.

Paramedics say on arrival at the scene on Tuesday, they found the woman had suffered several bite wounds on her body.

It is understood, a neighbour heard the injured woman screaming and jumped over the fence to assist her.

ER24’s Russel Meiring said the dogs also tried to attack him.

“Bystanders on the scene explained that the man shot at the dogs as they tried to attack him. The woman was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before she was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care.”

Meiring said local authorities and Potchefstroom Animal Welfare were on the scene for further investigations.
