[WATCH] SANDF Seizes Skin Lightening Creams worth R14M from Mozambique
A truck carrying over R14 million worth of illegal goods was seized by the South African Defence Forces (SANDF).
It is understood that soldiers received information last week about a truck that was carrying a consignment of goods from Mozambique.
The Sandf’s Captain Tamela says the truck was intercepted along the N4 near Komartipoort.
“On further inspection of the goods, it was established that the truck was loaded with bran on both sides but had boxes of skin-lightening creams in the middle of the load. The truck was escorted to the SA Revenue Service warehouse in Komatipoort. The total estimated value of creams is R 14 235 600.00.”
Captain Tamela says goods including boxes of Betasol, Diproson Epiderm Lotion and Carolight products were confiscated.
