Two-Year-Old Toddler Uthmaan Taliep Killed in Suspected Gang Shooting, Laid to Rest
A two-year-old toddler killed in a suspected gang-related shooting in Belhar in Cape Town has been laid to rest.
Uthmaan Taliep was reportedly playing with a bicycle at his neighbour’s yard when he was hit in the face, by a stray bullet fired by a gang member.
The police’s Frederick van Wyk confirmed that the motive for the shooting was suspected to be gang-related.
“At the scene, they were informed that the victim had already been taken to the fire station for medical attention. He was declared deceased by ambulance personnel.”
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the child’s murder.
