Two people have been arrested after tampering with the Transnet fuel pipeline in KwaZulu-Natal.

Police officers were conducting patrols on Curry’s Post Road on Monday when they noticed a suspicious vehicle next to the pipe line.

It is alleged that the suspects had tampered with the Transnet pipeline and forced open a valve.

The police’s Nqobile Gwala said the suspects aged 31 and 33 were handcuffed for damaging and tampering with essential infrastructure.

“The suspect’s firearm and a vehicle was seized by police for further investigation. The suspects are appearing in the Howick Magistrates Court today.”
