Search Underway for 2-Year-Old Child after Being Swept Away in KwaZulu-Natal
A search is underway for a 2-year-old child who reportedly drowned after he was swept away in a river in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal.
It is understood, a resident contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) on Tuesday for assistance after they failed to locate the child who was standing on the edge of the river while his father was washing his car.
Rusa said officers responded to the scene where the father explained what happened.
“He was busy washing his vehicle when he lost sight of the child. The boy is suspected to have been swept away. The SAPS K9 Search & Rescue Unit is on scene and are about to enter the river with a specialized dog to search for the child.”
