Sahuc invites travel operators to register for Hajj 2022
The South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) has invited IATA credited travel operators for the current year to apply for Hajj accreditation in 2022.
The announcement by the hajj body boosts confidence that a Hajj quota is expected to granted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to South Africa.
Earlier this month, a Sahuc delegation attended conference in Saudi Arabia and learnt that South Africa will be among the countries that will be allowed to perform hajj this year.
“We await official announcement from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and SAHUC will inform the public accordingly,” Sahuc said.
South Africa has an extensive Hajj waiting list and with the Covid-19 pandemic and protocols imposed by the Kingdom to stop the spread of the virus, that list has grown even longer.
Sahuc said travel operators interested in registering for Hajj 2022, must comply with the requirements as set out in the application documents and the SAHUC code of conduct.
