SA Records 5,920 New COVID-19 Infections
South Africa has recorded another 5,920 new COVID-19 infections.
This pushes the country’s known caseload since the start of the pandemic to more than 3,546,800.
This increase represents a 14.3% positivity rate.
The Health Department has also reported 159 deaths and of these, 51 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours.
This brings the total fatalities to 92,989 to date.
On a positive note, so far 3,346,936 people have recovered.
On the vaccination front, about 28.6 million jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered so far.
The NICD says there has also been an increase of 293 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours.
