Roger Federer & Rafael Nadal Coming to SA
Tickets to the much anticipated match between tennis legends and multiple Grand Slam champions Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were sold out within ten minutes.
The clash between the two tennis icons is set to take place at the Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town on 07 February 2020.
Presented by official sponsors Rolex and Credit Suisse, the Match in Africa is the 6th edition of this event, but the first to be played in Africa.
As an entertainment extravaganza, the event will feature a celebrity curtain-raiser match, local entertainers, interactive fun with the crowd, a world record attempt to set the world record for most attendees at a tennis match.
The net proceeds of the Exhibition Night will go to the Roger Federer Foundation’s educational efforts in rural areas in Southern Africa.
The Foundation focuses on education, as this is one of the most powerful means of change in a person’s life. With a focus on the improvement of the quality of early learning, the Foundation works with local communities and leaders to affect change at a grassroots level.
The event is running with the availability of 48,000 seats and while tickets have been sold out, the Roger Federer Foundation says they are considering adding more grandstands and urged fans to keep an eye out for announcements if more tickets are available.
The event will also be televised.
