Protest Action to Disrupt Traffic in Newtown, Joburg
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) says traffic is expected to be disrupted in the Johannesburg CBD due to protest action.
It is understood the Cancer Alliance will be embarking on the picket at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg on Tuesday.
The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar says officers will be on standby to monitor the situation and assist with traffic.
“The protestors will hand over a memorandum at the office for the premier and the roads which are likely to be affected include Henry Nxumalo Street and Rahima Moosa Street.”
Minnaar says the protest is expected to take place between 11am and 2pm.
