Police Launch Manhunt After Six Prisoners Escape from Custody
Police have launched a manhunt after six prisoners who escaped from custody.
The inmates escaped while en-route to court at Vosloorus on Friday.
It is understood the police truck transporting the prisoners was ambushed by three armed men driving a silver Audi vehicle.
The police’s Brenda Muridili said the prisoners are considered dangerous have urged the public not approach them but rather contact authorities.
“The five of the six escapees were due at Court for a Dawnpark case of business robbery, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm and the sixth escapee was due for his first appearance on a shoplifting case.”
