One Child & 3-Month-Old Baby Shot Dead, Mother Critically Wounded in Vanderbijlpark Shooting
A 3-month-old baby girl and an 11-year-old girl have been shot dead at a home in Bophelong, Vanderbijlpark.
It is understood the mother also suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and is in a critical condition in the incident on Friday night.
Paramedics say a third girl of around 5 years of age survived unharmed under blankets on a stretcher bed in another room.
ER24’s Ross Campbell says they were called to the scene by police.
“The mother and baby were found together on a bed and the 11-year-old on another bed in the same room. The baby and 11-year-old had been fatally injured and were declared dead on arrival by Provincial Services. The 30-year-old mother was in a critical condition and required Advanced Life Support interventions before being transported to a hospital for further care.”
Campbell says police were on the scene for investigations.
