Moti Family Urges South Africans for Assistance After Children Kidnapped in Polokwane

The parents of the four children who were kidnapped in Polokwane while on their way to school has urged the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the whereabouts of the brothers. 

The Polokwane Review reports that according to the family’s lawyer Philip Smit, Nazim and Shakira Moti’s four sons are still being sought by police who have launched a manhunt for the suspects and the children. 

The Moti brothers 15-year-old Zia, 13-year-old Alaan, 11-year-old Zayyad and 6-year-old Zidan were kidnapped in Polokwane on Wednesday en route to school.

Police say the car they were being driven in was cut off by two others along the Tzaneen bypass before seven men made off with the boys.

Smit who spoke to Jacaranda News says the family is waiting for a ransom demand and have reason to believe the kidnappers will make contact.

“There were no calls yet made by the criminals, so we do not know what the plan is, but we suspect it is a type of a ransom situation. That’s all we can think of at this stage.”

The Moti family have urged South Africans to pray for the safe return of their children.
