More than 1,400 Suspects Arrested in Limpopo for Murder, Kidnapping, Robberies & Other Crimes
Limpopo police have arrested at least 1,424 suspects in the province during operations conducted across all the districts from 31 January until on 10 February 2022.
The suspects aged between 27 and 54 were handcuffed for various crimes including murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, robberies, rape, smuggling of illicit cigarettes and Contravention of Immigration Act among others.
Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the arrests.
“The work done by the men and woman in blue in their relentless efforts of cleaning our streets and more of over the stand which they took in many of these arrests where criminals resorted to corrupting them not to fulfill their constitutional mandate, is highly applaudable.”
Police say some of the suspects have already started appearing before the local magistrate courts and that operations are continuing.
