Man Uses Classifieds to Solicit Muslim Woman

It seems the classifieds have become a hunting ground for desperate men wanting to prey on women whether they are married or not.
Recently a lady approached me and narrated an incident about how she became a victim of this new fad by men wanting to woo women possibly for a romantic rendezvous or illicit affair.
Nazeera whose name has been changed to protect her identity says she advertised unwanted items on a major online classified website to earn extra cash when she was contacted by a man pretending to be a customer.
“He started with ‘Hi how are you’ and I reciprocated by replying to his greeting and asking him what he wanted.”
Nazeera says the man asked her for a ‘pic’ of herself to which she replied: ‘WTF’ what to do you want a photo for?”
She says the man disclosed that he had found her contact details on the classifieds website where she advertised goods to sell.
Nazeera says she showed her husband the conversation on WhatsApp who told her to continue the chat to get more information about the man.
She says the man didn’t care if she was married or not.
“I told him I was married with three children, but this did not deter him. He was adamant that he still wanted to see me and at one point asked ‘don’t you think an experienced woman can give me experience?’”
She says the man was allegedly a Muslim as WhatsApp displays the name during a chat.
“I told him that Zina (adultery) was haram in Islam and what he was doing was wrong. He didn’t care and continued to want to see me and asked me if I wore a purdah (face veil) and why I was so pious.”
Nazeera says the man insisted he wanted a picture of her to see her.
She says when she got all the information she needed, she told the man her husband was sitting next to her and reading the chat and that they were going to expose him for soliciting married woman.
“He just replied ‘Oh…maaf for the trouble, I don’t know what you must be thinking of me, I am not a bad person.’”
Nazeera says the man than blocked her on WhatsApp.
According to Nazeera, the man claimed he was ‘very young’, unmarried and Muslim and lived in Lenasia extension 13.
Nazeera says she wants to warn other women about her ordeal and that they should be careful about sharing their personal details on social media and public platforms.
