Man Killed in Hit & Run in Paulshof

A man believed to be in his 40s was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Witkoppen Road in Paulshof.

Paramedics say on arrive at the scene they found the man lying in the middle of the road with a taxi and a light motor vehicle parked a short distance away.

ER24’s Russel Meiring said the vehicle that struck the man fled the scene.

“Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.”

Meiring said details surrounding the incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
