Malema says EFF Will Not Play Role in DA Government, But will be in Opposition
Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema says his party will not play a role in Democratic Alliance (DA) city governments and will be in opposition.
Malema was briefing the media on the outcomes of council meetings across the country.
Malema says the EFF is in no coalition.
“Since when voting for someone is a coalition. It is not a coalition. The EFF has no coalition with the DA.”
Malema says DA leaders Helen Zille and John Steenhuisen have continued their insults on the EFF.
“The DA has insulted the EFF in every opportunity but we are not bothered because we are fixing the country.”
Malema also touched on the the eThekwini Council after the African National Congress’ (ANC) Mxolisi Kaunda was elected mayor.
The ANC allocated a seat in the council to the All Basotho Convention (ABC) which assisted the party to retain control of the municipality.
“We think something illegal could have happened in eThekwini, we have instructed our lawyers to look into the matter.”
Malema says removing the ANC from the metros is levelling the playing field.
“We have taken resources from the ANC now by removing them from power. Nothing magical is going to happen for the ANC until 2024.”
Malema says the EFF was told that the country was going to have a president that respects the constitution “but Ramaphosa has no regard for our constitution.”
