[LISTEN] Ramaphosa: “Whichever Party Wins Elections Should Ensure Service Delivery Done Differently than Before”
President Cyril Ramaphosa says whichever party wins the election should make sure that service delivery must be done differently than it was done before.
Ramaphosa was speaking outside the Hitekani Primary School in Chiawelo, Soweto where he and wife cast their ballots on Monday in what is believed to be the most hotly contested local government elections.
South Africans are frustrated with the lack of service delivery in various communities including illegal land grabs, mushrooming of informal settlements and load shedding which was implemented last week due to generation capacity at Eskom.
Ramaphosa says political parties must do more to deliver service to the communities across the country.
“As president of the republic, I am saying I would like whoever wins to actually make sure that municipal service delivery is done differently from what we have done before. So, our people today have a chance of ushering us into a new era.”
Ramaphosa says he wants all municipalities to make an effort to provide better and efficient service delivery.
