Limpopo police are continuing their search for four brothers of the Moti family who were allegedly kidnapped in Polokwane en route to school.

The Moti brothers 15-year-old Zia, 13-year-old Alaan, 11-year-old Zayyad and 6-year-old Zidan were kidnapped on Wednesday after the car they were being driven in was cut off by two others along the Tzaneen bypass before seven men made off with the boys.

On Wednesday, the parents of the four children Nazim and Shakira Moti urged the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the whereabouts of the brothers.

The police’s Motlafela Mojapelo says they are still searching for the Moti brothers.

“We have established a multi-faceted team of investigators and other role players with the relevant expertise to handle such a case. This team is led by the deputy provincial commissioner responsible for crime detection, Major General Samuel Manala.”

The family’s lawyer Philip Smit, Smit on Wednesday said the family is waiting for a ransom demand and have reason to believe the kidnappers will make contact.

While many people have taken to social media expressing their concerns for the Moti brothers to be found safely and the perpetrators be brought to book, the public have been urged to refrain from spreading fake news about the kidnapping as it may jeopardize the case.
