Lenasia South Experiences Another Power Outage
After almost 12 hours without power on Monday, Lenasia South has once again been plunged into darkness.
The suburb experienced another power on Tuesday just after 7pm.
According to a tweet by City Power it is aware of the outage in Lenasia South.
“Technicians will be dispatched to investigate. ETR is not yet known, however updates will be communicated throughout.”
Residents are up in arms over the power outages which have put pressure on households who do not have alternative power sources including generators and inverters.
Earlier, City Power in a statement said after experiencing overloading on restoration of supply on Tuesday morning 3 of the 5 distributors including Clover, Vlakfontein extension 2 at the Lotus substation was restored.
“Hospital Hills and Vlakfontein extension 1 distributors will remain off until the load subsides. The team is constantly monitoring the load and will continue to restore the remaining areas in a staggered fashion until everyone who was affected by this outage is back on.”
City Power has urged customers to switch off non essential appliances and use electricity sparingly to ease the load on the network.
