Lenasia/Lenasia South to be Affected by 54-Hour Water Disruptions, Here are the Other Affected Areas

Rand Water’s 54-hour water outage is also expected to affect water supply to Lenasia and Lenasia South. 

The bulk water supplier will  be  working  on  their  raw  water  pipe that supplies  their  Vereeniging  water  purification  plant resulting in the  purification  plant  not being operational  on  15  November from  5am  for  a  period  of  54  hours.

Johannesburg Water says residents of the city will also be impacted by the reduction in water supply.

“This  will unfortunately  impact  on  water  supply  from  the  Rand  Water  Eikenhof  pump  station  to the  South  of  Johannesburg,  Northern  and  Western  areas  as  supply  will  be  reduced  by 25%.Water  supply from  the  Rand  Water  Zwartkoppies  system  to  the  central  CBD  will be  also  reduced  by  50%.” 

Johannesburg Water has informed residents  of  the  City  of  Johannesburg that the repair by Rand Water is  not  a complete  shutdown  but  a  supply  reduction.  

“Water supply reduction  will  result  in  poor  to  no  water  supply  during  peak  water  demand periods  in most  high  laying  and  high  demand  areas.*Stationary  and  roaming  water tankers will be  made  available where feasible  to  reduce  the  impact  to  consumers. “
