Lenasia Experiencing an Increase in Crime, Residents Urged to be Vigilant & Take Precaution – Police
The Lenasia Police Station said it is experiencing an increase in crime in Lenasia and surrounding areas.
Spokesperson Bafana Ndimande said there is a great need to reduce business and house robberies, hijackings and theft of motor vehicles and other crimes in the suburb.
Ndimande has urged the community to be vigilant and take all precautions necessary to stay safe including keeping windows closed and doors locked while driving, installing CCTV cameras in residential and business premises and reporting suspicious persons loitering on streets among others.
“The criminals target old model motor vehicles in theft cases.”
Meanwhile, a motor vehicle was stolen in the Lenasia CBD on Friday.
Residents have been advised to report any sightings of the stolen car to police.
