Huawei to Launch First Ever WiFi 6 plus router, – WiFi AX3
Huawei is expected to launch its first ever WiFi 6 plus router, the WiFi AX3 which offers users faster speed, larger capacity, lower latency and less power consumption.
What is WiFi 6 plus?
WiFi 6 plus is the new generation WiFi standard and is supported by 5G. Huawei has become a major contributor to the Wi-Fi 6 plus standard and has also introduced many advanced 5G technologies into Wi-Fi 6 plus. In the near future, Huawei’s WiFi 6 plus routers will play a key role as connection centres in Huawei’s seamless smart life scenarios.
The advantages of WiFi 6 plus
WiFi 6 plus delivers in all aspects you need it to. Compared to the previous generation, WiFi 6:
- Is three times faster – it supports a frequency bandwidth of up to 160 MHz
- Has four times more capacity – multi-user technology allows multiple devices to share the spectrum
- Has two-thirds lower latency – interference is avoided
- Uses 30% less power – its on-demand wake-up functionality reduces power consumption
The WiFi AX3 is equipped with a quad-core 1.4 GHz Gigahome CPU, which boosts the Wi-Fi 6 speed to over 1 Gbps, so an HD movie can be downloaded in just 10 seconds. This CPU’s performance also means multi connections without latency.
It also boats two independent signal amplifiers delivering better signals for all devices, even if they are not equipped with WiFi 6.
The WiFi AX3 supports wireless networking, network cable networking, and the hybrid networking of wireless and network cables. After networking, the optimal Wi-Fi is automatically selected based on the device’s location. It can also network with certain previous Huawei Wi-Fi routers to expand network coverage in the home.
Speaking of security, Huawei HomeSec on the I AX3 ensures that you are protected against brute force cracking as it automatically identifies Wi-Fi cracking apps by detecting passwords that have not been entered manually, and then blacklists the attacker.
The Huawei AX3 Dual-core will be available from 1 December 2020 internationally and 2021 in South Africa at a price of R1,499 at the Huawei online store.
