[GRAPHIC] Traffic Volumes Expected to Increase on N3 Toll Route Ahead of Weekend

As South Africans prepare for the festive period with many travelling to the coast, the N3 Toll Concession says traffic volumes is likely to increase across the route. 

The concession has released a traffic forecast for the N3 on Tuesday for 15-17 December. 

Spokesperson Anita Heyl said: “Traffic is expected to gradually increase from 12pm tomorrow with the first peak (of +- 1500 vehicles per hour) expected around 3pm. 

On Monday, Transport minister Fikile Mbalula launched the Safer Festive Season campaign that aims to prioritise and promote safer road usage during the high peak season on South African roads.

Mbalula said his department wants to achieve a 25% reduction in road fatalities by March 2024.
