Fifteen Injured After Car & Taxi Crash in Benoni

At least fifteen people have been injured after car and collided on Modderbee Road in Benoni.

Paramedics say on arrival at the scene on Saturday they found several people walking around the scene or seated on the pavement.

ER24’s Russel Meiring said the patients were treated and later transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

“Medics assessed the patients and found that a woman from the car and fourteen men and women from the taxi had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were found. The driver of the light motor vehicle was not found on the scene.

Meiring said local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
