Anaconda Escapes from Enclosure at Home in KZN

An Anaconda snake is currently on the loose after it escaped from a house in KwaZulu-Natal.

The non venomous reptile escaped from a temporary enclosure from its owners residence in Troy Street in Phoenix between 6pm on Wednesday and 10am on Thursday.

Reaction Unit SA has urged anyone who saw the snake to contact them.

“The black & yellow female snake could easily constrict small cats and dogs. It is expected to grow a further 4 to 5 meters in the next few years.”
