Huawei Watch GT 5 hits SA shelves

After much anticipation, the Huawei Watch GT 5 Series is now available in South Africa.

The new lineup which was launched in Barcelona last month with brands ambassadors Tatjana Smith and Sir Mo Farah in attendance, redefines health monitoring with the new TruSense system.

The wearable is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones, allowing a broader range of users to experience its advanced features. Pricing starts at R4 999.00

The Huawei Watch GT 5 Series arrives in two editions— the GT 5 Pro and the standard GT 5with three different sizes and 10 colourways.

There is also the standard GT 5 with 41mm and 46mm versions made from stainless-steel.

Features

The TruSense System debuts on the GT 5 Series, marking a significant step forward in health and fitness tracking.

This new system massively improves accuracy, speed, and comprehensiveness in monitoring vital signs. Heart rate accuracy during running is now over 98%.

With the new Emotional Wellbeing Assistant, the watch now infers the user’s emotional state by tracking long-term patterns. Adding a touch of fun, the watch offers a Pet Panda watch face that reacts to the wearer’s mood with animations, reflecting how you feel.

Battery

For female users, the GT 5 Series offers advanced cycle management, providing accessible and insightful health information in an easy-to-navigate format.

Battery longevity remains a key feature, with the 46mm model boasting battery life of up to 14 days and the 41mm and 42mm versions up to 7 days of use. Wireless charging support ensures that powering up the device is both quick and effortless.

Utilising the Huawei Sunflower Positioning System, the watch offers advanced route mapping for cycling and running.
