Imagine a notebook that is built for business and for everyday life. Imagine a dual screen notebook with one screen on the cover allowing you to check your mail, make notes and even do some reading without opening the lid?

Well, stop imaging because this is a reality.

Lenovo has unveiled a new category of notebooks called ThinkBook.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Lenovo’s Thibault Doussan says they launched the new category of notebooks to compete in the SMB market.

“We thought it was pertinent for the SMB market to have a laptop that was good looking. We want to be packed with technology but not over the top so that we can keep a certain cost in line.”

The ThinkBook Plus which was unveiled at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas has also garnered a lot of interest.

It features a 10.8-inch E Ink display is on the outside of the laptop and is mostly designed to be used when the computer is closed.

The display shows things like calendar events and weather information that might be more convenient to check than the phone in your pocket.

For more active use when you actually get to your meeting, the E Ink display and included stylus can be used to take notes that sync to Microsoft OneNote.

Thibault says the ThinkBook Plus is expected to be available in South Africa.

“Of course it will be available in South Africa. I am hoping for April. The price point at the moment is only done in the US. From what they actually giving us was about $ 1,500. We’ll know a little bit later in the year what the price will be in SA.”

Lenovo also unveiled the ThinkBook 13S and 14 and 15 inch models.
