Man arrested for tampering with electricity infrastructure in Lenasia
Lenasia police have arrested a 32-year-old man for tampering essential infrastructure.
The man was handcuffed after he was spotted interfering with electricity cables.
The police’s Bafana Ndimande said: “A Female alleged that she was officially on duty with her colleague. They were performing patrol duties at Islamabad Avenue, Lenasia Extension 11 when noticed an unknown Indian on top of a step ladder. The male was busy cutting a City Power Electricity Cable. The cable was estimated to the value of R500,00.”
Ndimande said the suspect is expected to appear in the Lenasia Magistrates Court soon.
