Lenasia Police investigating attempted murder cases in separate incidents

Police are investigating cases of attempted murder in two separate incidents in Lenasia. 

In the first incident, a 31-year-old man was arrested after police received a complaint of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at Lawley Station Informal Settlement. 

Spokesperson Bafana Ndimande said on arrival officers found a man lying on the floor. 

“The victim sustained a stab wound on the lower body. The victim alleged that he was stabbed by an African male known to him. The paramedics were summoned to the crime scene and transferred him to the hospital for treatment. The motive of the attempted murder is unknown at this stage.” 

In the second incident, police arrested a 38 year old man for attempted murder.

It is understood the man was at his house in Limpopo Street, Lenasia Extension 10. When the incident happened. 

Ndimande said the man parked his motor vehicle and found two individuals on his property one of whom was known to him. 

“The other male was hired by his wife to install CCTV Cameras. He approached the other male and asked him about the money he owed. The male became aggressive and pointed a firearm at him. He fired two shots at him but missed and he ran away. The motive of attempted murder is unknown at this stage.” 

Ndimande said both suspects are expected to appear in the Lenasia Magistrates Court soon.
