A 39-year-old man is expected to return to court in April for sentencing following the murder of businessman and Speedy Car Sales owner Mohammed Dangor.

Tshiamo Sekgoro was found guilty on one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder by the Klerksdorp High Court on Thursday.

Sekgoro shot Dangor and two other employees at the luxury car dealership in Klerksdorp following an argument in November 2019.

During the trial, Sekgoro told the court that he was acting in self-defense when he killed Dangor.

This was dismissed by the state through video footage that was accepted by the court as evidence.

Judge A.J Makoti also agreed with the state as no signs of danger were reflected on the footage against Sekgoro.

State prosecutor, Advocate Riekie Krause further argued that Sekgoro’s action was pre-meditated.

The case has been postponed to 11-12 April 2022 for sentencing proceedings.
