Police Launch Manhunt for Criminals After Man Stabbed to Death in Lenasia South House Robbery
Police have launched a manhunt for a group of suspects following the fatal stabbing of a man during a house robbery in Lenasia South, extension 4.
It is understood the man believed to be in his 40’s arrived from work on Monday when he was accosted by three unknown suspects who overpowered him and forced him into the house.
Police say his wife who was at home at the time was also attacked and bound with cable ties by the suspects before they ransacked the house.
Spokesperson Kalipha Mvula said the suspect’s allegedly stole household appliance and cellphones before fleeing the scene in a silver grey Colt bakkie belonging to the victims.
“Neighours responded to the screams of the bound wife and came to her aid only to discover the lifeless body of her husband lying in a pool of blood inside the bedroom. It was discovered that the victim had sustained stabbing wounds on the upper body and was unfortunately declared as deceased on the scene.”
Mvula said police are investigating a case of murder and house robbery.
Police have urged the public to come forward with any information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.
