Man Dies after Car Rolls in Parking Lot

A man has died following a vehicle rollover in a parking lot in Arcon Park in the Vaal area on Friday.

According to bystanders, the bakkie lost control going over a speedbump before crashing into the pavement and subsequently rolling onto and over a parked vehicle.

ER24’s Ineke van Huyssteen said they found a bakkie lying on its roof next to another damaged vehicle.

“The Vereeniging Fire Department was busy extricating the man from the bakkie with the jaws of life. Unfortunately, the man had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead by paramedics at the scene.

Van Huyssteen said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not known.
