Five Criminals Arrested after Robbing Hardware Store in Anchorville, Lenasia

A group of armed criminals have been arrested after they robbed a hardware store in Anchorville, Lenasia. 

It is understood a few employees were attending to the store on Thursday when they were accosted by group of suspects aged 27 to 36. 

Police say the criminals stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in two vehicles, one of which was stolen. 

Spokesperson Bafana Ndimande said officers handcuffed the suspects after a high-speed chase in Lenasia. 

“The officers managed to stop the Toyota Corolla motor vehicle at Hydrangea Avenue, Lenasia Extension 2 and apprehended five  males. The officers searched the motor vehicle and found three  firearms. The Red BMW motor vehicle was later found abandoned and recovered at Lenasia Extension 10. “

Ndimande said the suspects were detained at Lenasia SAPS, charged with business robbery and are expected to appear in the Protea Magistrates Court soon.
