Man Stabs Brother to Death With Screwdriver in Lenasia South

A 34-year-old man has been arrested after stabbing his brother to death with a screwdriver in Lenasia South. 

Police say they received information about domestic violence at a house in extension four on Tuesday and on arrival was told by the sibling’s mother of the attack of her 30-year-old son. 

The mother told the police both brothers were still locked inside the room in the outbuilding.

Spokesperson Kalipha Mvula said the door was forced open and the 34-year-old was found with his clothing smeared with blood. 

“Upon searching the room, the lifeless body of the 30-year-old sibling was found lying in a pool of blood behind the couch. The deceased had sustained multiple stab wounds on his upper body and was declared as deceased on the scene by paramedics who were summoned to assist at the crime scene. It is unknown at this stage as to what might have led to the fatal stabbing. 

The suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
